Conference on "Communication for Social Development: Discourse & Practice"
Conference on "Communication for Social Development: Discourse & Practice" scheduled for April 12-14, 2007 at University of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. It is going to be an exclusive programme for policymakers, practitioners and academicians to share, debate and discuss issues relating to communication for social development.
Initiatives and interventions that use Information Communication Technology (ICT) tools or methods for social change fall under the domain of developmental communication. Using ICT for education, creating a media campaign for polio eradication, research and advocacy for authorizing community radio, making a film on tribal rights, addressing gender issues through legal regulations are all examples of developmental communication.
The objective of this conference is thus to bring together these professionals working in diverse areas of social development. The thread binding them being that they all use some form of communication to further their agenda.
Papers are invited in each track of the conference:
1. Environment and Risk Management
2. Education
3. Health and Population
